  Loctite Prism® series has overcome the limitation of conventional "instant" adhesives and Prism® will work where other instant adhesives have failed because they:
 

- Bond previously "unbondable" polyethylene and polypropylene plastics.

- Give faster, stronger bonds on acidic and porous surfaces.

   Available in liquid and gel formula, these adhesives create strong bonds on a variety of difficult-to-bond substrates, including rough, porous and acidic surfaces. Excellent strength and fast cure even under low humidity conditions on wood, paper, leather, board, fabric and other absorbent surfaces.    Available in liquid and gel formula. This product is toughened with elastomers for impact, peel and improved resistance to heat, humidity or damp environments. The application will withstand high temperature (120°C), last up to 10 times longer and give you a wider margin of safety.   
 
     
   Specially formulated for appearance sensitive assemblies requiring excellent strength. Low odour eliminates the need for sophisticated ventilation system.    Specifically formulated for bonding metals. Will also provide rapid bonding of a wide variety of other materials.   
 
     
   Combine excellent peel and impact resistance with shear strength. designed for high stress, temperature, humidity , vibration and impact applications. Ideal to replace slower-curing epoxies to form permanent bonds to all parts with enhanced resistance to peel and shock loads.    Specially formulated for toughness and impact strength. This activatorcured adhesive bonds most materials. Use with Primer 7649 for close fitting parts.   
  
ADHESIVES: .......UV ADHESIVES.......
  Following the commercial availability of the first industrial ultraviolet (UV) lamps in the early 70's, Loctite pioneered industrial applications and product development efforts of UV rapid cure adhesives, sealants and coatings.

  UV cure adhesives contain agents called photoinitiators. These photoinitiators are designed to remain inactive until they are exposed to certain wavelengths of UV light. While exposed, they are activated and cure the adhesive.

  The primary advantage of UV processing is speed of cure. Depending on the adhesive, the parts being assembled, and the UV source, cures within seconds can be realized.

  
              
   Production savings resulting from the primary advantage of speed of cure include fewer part handling fixtures; less floor space requirements; ability to test parts soon after assembly, eliminating the possibility of scrapping a large quantity of work-in-process goods; and inventory reductions.
Secondary advantages are that UV adhesives often can replace solvent based adhesives, thus eliminating the problems associated with environmental regulations on solvent emissions. Energy savings are often substantial as UV curing products eliminate the need for long oven cures, or for gas fired fusing operations in glass assemblies.
UV products often require no premixing as is common with epoxies, and consequently there is no pot life problem and subsequent waste, and no expensive meter-mix equipment. Parts will not fixture or begin cure until exposed to UV light. Critical part positioning is therefore enhanced.
Loctite UV curing adhesives are extensively used in the electronics, automotive, medical and other industries, especially those where glass and transparent plastic components are involved. In the automotive industry, applications
   include headlamp and mirror bonding. In medical devices, Loctite's UV adhesives are used to bond plastic and glass tubing and needles to other metal and plastic parts. In electronics, these UV adhesives are used in the hard disk drive, floppy disk drive, video tape recorder, compact disc, speaker and office equipment industries, to name a few.
Loctite's UV range includes products for instant curing at low UV intensity. They are especially suited to the electronics, electrical, glass, ceramic and other industries for wire tacking, component .bonding, small part encapsulation and shallow potting. In addition, Loctite produces general purpose glass to plastic bonders, an optically clear product, as well as UV adhesives for conformably coating and masking printed circuit boards. Medical grades are also available. Loctite Corporation has also developed multicure products to enable opaque products to be fixtures instantly with UV light which allows the secondary cure mechanisms to fully cure the adhesive off the assembly line.
